Our Story
Honoring Dear Millie
My name is Tanya Jacobson and I'm a designer, illustrator, and mother. Dear Millie is in Honor of Millie Arlene, my daughter, who unexpectedly, and tragically was born still. Utterly devastated and broken as my husband and I left the hospital without our baby girl. With this unwavering heartbreak, I realized I needed to do something to help put back the pieces, something I believed in that was positive and had purpose.
Every day was a constant struggle to see the light, as I will forever be mourning the loss of my daughter. Among the darkness, I found that sharing our story helped me move forward instead of standing still. Dear Millie allows me to honor and make beautiful things for my baby, your child, and your friends child. Surrounding blessed families with something truly meaningful while creating awareness of the tragedy that is miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss.
Silence the Stigma
Women still face enormous shame when losing a baby and are often not encouraged to talk about their loss. Suffering in silence can lead to isolation, depression and the inability to move on. Losing your child is devastating at all stages and should not be ignored or taken lightly.
